  • Reiki is a gentle, natural form of energy that supports relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands on the body, to be Present for Healing to take place.

Reiki works with the whole person—body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Many people experience a deep sense of peace, warmth, calm, or relaxation during a session. Every person’s experience is unique.

Reiki is not connected to any particular religion or belief system, and you do not need to believe in Reiki to receive it.

  • During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed and relax comfortably on a treatment table. I gently place my hands on different areas of the body, & hold Presence.

There is nothing you need to do other than relax and BE. You may experience warmth, tingling, a sense of lightness, deep relaxation, or simply a peaceful stillness. You will experience the benefits of the session.

Every Reiki experience is unique, and each session unfolds accordingly.

  • I generally recommend beginning with four Reiki sessions, as each session can allow the experience to deepen naturally.

The first session is often an introduction. A client may still feel a little nervous, curious, or alert while becoming familiar with Reiki and the experience.

The second session is often where trust begins to develop. The client knows what to expect and may find it easier to relax and receive.

The third session can bring a deeper sense of letting go — almost like surrendering into the experience rather than watching or anticipating it.

By the fourth session, the body and mind may have had an opportunity to settle into a deeper state of balance and relaxation, supporting the body's natural tendency toward homeostasis — its own state of equilibrium and balance.

After the initial four sessions, the frequency of Reiki is entirely individual. Some people continue regularly for relaxation and well-being, while others return whenever they feel they need additional support.

  • No. Reiki does not require any particular belief or faith. You simply need to be open to receiving the experience.

Some people come to Reiki with a strong understanding of energy, while others come simply because they are curious or would like to relax. Each person's experience is unique.

You do not have to understand or know about Reiki in order to receive it.

  • Reiki supports relaxation, balance, and an overall sense of well-being. Many people experience a deep sense of peace and calm during and after a session.

Reiki may help reduce stress, encourage relaxation, support emotional balance, and create a greater sense of connection with oneself.

Because every person is unique, each Reiki experience is different. Some people feel warmth, tingling, lightness, or deep relaxation, while others simply experience a quiet sense of peace.

Reiki is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical care.

  • Every Reiki experience is different. Some people feel warmth or coolness from the practitioner's hands, tingling, gentle pulsations, lightness, or a sense of energy moving through the body.

Others may experience colors, imagery, emotions, or simply a very deep state of relaxation. Some people fall asleep.

And sometimes a person may not feel anything unusual at all. There is no "right" way to experience Reiki.

  • A Reiki initiation, often called a Reiki attunement, is a ceremonial part of Reiki training in which a Reiki Master introduces or attunes a student to the Reiki practice.

Initiation is an opening or awakening of an Awareness that is already within us—not as the teacher “giving” the student energy. Reiki is a presence that exists in everyone and need not be bound by rigid frameworks. A Reiki initiation does not give you something you do not have. It awakens your awareness of the healing presence that is already within you.

It is done in person. It is a ceremony used to “activate” a students ability to channel Reiki frequency, marking the transition into a new level of practice.
